I was thinking about gettin the HKS Hiper exhuast if any of u guys have it or know infor about it it would be appriciated thanks:dsm:
 
I have this exhaust. It is 65mm piping, 2 30 degree bends, built in resonator and polished stainless steel muffler with 4" tip. Mild sound while crusing and a great sound at WOT.
 
Yea that is what I want i dont want anything really loud at idle, also I heard people cut the built in resignator out and put a straight pipe in. Is this a good idea. Also what downpipe should I use with the exhust system.:dsm:
 
I would keep the resonator in, it helps absorb sound while still maintaining a straight through design.

I would just order a 2.5" downpipe, but ask them not to weld the last flange that connects to the cat-back exhaust. Take that flange and weld it so it mates up properly with the cat-back.

I would get the 2.5" mandrel bent one from Buschur Racing. You might need a 2.5" test pipe to eliminate the cat.
 
I am going to get it from a local shop in my town. I think it is around $600. Is that to much??
 
stay away from the hiper. i got a great deal on mine, 400, and then had to sell it. the neck down at the front of the exhaust is not the biggest restriction, nor is the resonator, its the muffler. the muffler is a straight through perforated core, but its only 2" i.d. my advice is to get another system

i have no personal experience with the n1. i fabbed my 3" exhaust myself. after the hiper i said screw it, i'll make my own. searches should answer your question just fine though.
 
i have this exhaust in my car and it is one of the sickest exhaust i think on the market for our cars
its lnice and low when idling but when its boosting oh shittt
go for this exahst man

did you not read my reply? go take a 3" pipe or 2.5" pipe and try and put it inside the muffler. you might be surprised to find out that it won't fit.
 
yea have been hearin alot of mixed reviews i am going to talk to one of the local shop owners tomorrow about it. but i want to have a full three inch system so i think i might get the apexi n1 and the apexi n1 downpipe.
 
apexi n1 or gt downpipe's come in 80mm for the awd's and 70mm for the fwd. The N1 exhaust necks down to 2.5 inside the muffler. If you can find it someoe posted picks of it. As far as exhaust go here is what I've found


rnr racing - turboback is very popular and a true 3inch i believe.

RS*R exhaust - very similar to apexi products, but does not neck down to 2.5 in the muffler. Quiet at idle and pretty loud at wot. (I have this exhaust and a apexi GT downpipe).

Thermal R&D - from what i heard, this is a loud exhaust but I never heard anyone say they didn't like the sound. A bit expensive and full stainless.

If you want a 3 inch turboback, I'd look into rnr. Their probably the best bang for the buck, I think 900 for a full stainless IIRC. Expect massive creep on a stock turbo tho.
