I have a 97 2g GSX . I have all the basic mods done for a stage 1 set up. Full 3in Exhaust, Big FMIC, Hard piping, BOV, boost controller, Hard piping Intake, I am currently debating on rebuilding my motor (bottem end) or buyin a built block. I have a 1st gen head fully ported and polished and am also buying a big 16g,ported 2g exhaust manny and intake. What would you suggest doing? Looking to get this all done with a month, thats running and everything streetable again.

If your not going over 400hp at the wheels i would leave it alone for right now. Theres guys on here who are putting down well over 300hp on stock internals, with about the same mods you are buying and have already... just my .02

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, i'd personally go for the rebuild. if you go the inexpensive way, you could do the 1g big rod/2g piston combo, and put the 1g ported and polished head with it and it would be gold.
take it easy

I agree make sure it's a 6-bolt though.
