The clutch is currently dead, and I'm planning to go with an ACT 2600 Clutch / Fidanza Flywheel combo.

-How much power increase can I expect from the flywheel?
-Anyone running one?
-Worth $400.00?
-Know where I can find one cheap? (<$400.00)

Thanx,
DeathBeast

You wont really gain horsepower. Just free up some from less rotaional mass. Im really not sure how much hp, and it all depend on you setup.

The main thing a flywheel will do is make you rev up faster. Which is good for big turbos. I dont think its a big deal really. I would spend the money somewhere else

Just get it...it'll cost 50 bucks to resurface the one you got anyway...and You can get them cheaper than 400 right...I thought I saw them for 300, I don't know though I never really looked into it.

Fidanza flywheels are typically too light for a turbo car. ACT has come out with their own line of flywheels and they have them for our cars. They are chromoly too and SFI 1.1 rated which the Fidenza is not. A super light flywheel causes your RPM to drop too far between shift which is not a problem for some people but it really bothers others.

Check out their new line. They dont have a 8.8 for our cars but they do have the 12.8lbs for Turbo cars available for us for all year DSMs...

We typically pull fidanza flywheels out of turbo cars because guys don't like them after a while or with really high HP cars they tend to make the clutch slip. We put back in the stock flywheel and no slipping problems.

I can get you a used one for 200 dollars. My friend had it until his 7 bolt broke.

He noticed a big imporvement on his 16g car. He gained about a car in roll races against ls1's.

I've got the 6 bolt. I did a swap when my timing belt broke a while ago.

thanx,

they do make a difference...when you go big with your turbo you have much better rev time...spools the turbo a lot faster...i've got one in my 95 Talon right now, running a 57 trim T3/T4...spooled up much nicer when i added that mod...

if you're gonna have your car for a while and you do a lot of drag racing...get it...:dsm:
