I need some new spark plugs and spark plug wires. I'm completely stock and need opinions/options on what I should get. For the plugs I have heard good things about the NGK BPR7ES. As for plug wires, I have heard bad things about MSD and Magnecore. What wires and plugs should I try to get? Thanks, Jake.

Go to Advance Auto Parts and ask for stock replacements. That is all you need :) Stock plugs are NGK BPR6ES and stock wires are NGK as well. You don't need any more than that.

You don't need the 7 series plugs until you are running over 300hp.

Is it worth it to buy bigger plug wires or is this just basically advanced tuning stuff for cars running high horsepower applications? Thanks, Jake.

I agree that you don't need new plug wires right away, but considering that your car is 13 years old and if they've never been replaced, it might be a good idea. I bought a set of Taylor's for my car and I love them. They look awesome and performance is miles better than stock.

Where is a good place to get a set of Taylor wires? Thanks, Jake.

I didn't think bigger wires really benifit you unless you have an upgraded ignition system, am I wrong??

Jeff is right. You don't need 7 series plugs or aftermarket wires yet. Save your money, and get what you NEED not what you WANT. ;)

Ok, thanks for the input guys. Going to stick to stock plugs and wires, I'm just going to replace them and spend the money on something else, but what is the question? Basically I have to be able to do the modifications myself, or want to, so I'm kinda limited on things to purchase. Any ideas? Thanks, Jake.

Your profile says you have a boost gauge, but says nothing about a boost controller. I would go for one of those if you don't have one already. Clean out your intercooler if you haven't already. You'd be surprised how much oil can build up in that thing over time. You may also want to look into intercooler pipes, but that can get expensive real quick. You could also look into a new intake pipe from Dejon Tools.

Oh yeah, suspension wise you could look for a front strut tower bar. I got my OBX bar off ebay for 46 bucks shipped.

Yeah I don't have a boost controller, I'm going to search the VFAQ and see if I can find out how to clean my intercooler. I was seriously considering getting the intake pipe and new filter but I don't know how hard it would be to install the new intake pipe, it seems pretty crowded in that area in particular and I don't want to mess up my car. Thanks for you help, any more info would be great, Jake.
