my buddy who is a tuner and tech did a tune up on my 97 gsx and i told him to gap the plugs at .028 but he said .026 is better is that true? and yes i used bpr7es.
these are my mods:
Chrome Forced Performance Green Turbo w/external dump tube
Black 3.5" Dejon intake pipe to K&N FIPK
Might have cams not sure
Walbro 255 fuelpump
Greddy Denso 660 injectors
Arp HeadStuds
Taylor Sport Compact Series 8mm Ignition Wires
Tial External waste gate
Custom 2g Ported manifold by AMS
Greddy oil catch can
Greddy type S BOV Recirculated
GReddy XTRA LARGE Intercooler Kit Type 24V
Greddy IC pipes
Greddy sport radiator hose kit
Polyurethane motor mounts
Braided stainless steel oil lines
well my turbo can handle 24psi easy...but i usually dont turn my boost controller on unless im gonna be racing so now its running stock boost which is like 14.5psi...my low is set at 15.5 and hi 18.5-19 depending on weather...

The 7's will suit you well. Either .028 or .026 will be fine. As PIMking said, the smaller gap will help prevent the spark from blowing out. And either BPR or BR will be fine.

Should be fine at .026-.028 with 24psi on your setup. If you blow out the spark just gap them a little lower.
What I do on any dsm is start at .028 and I dont have a misfire I am good. If I do then I start too lower just a little. I have always been able to run .028 at 30psi with no issue. Others with larger turbos pushing 35+psi have gone as low as .018. It just depends on how much boost and cylinder pressure.
I say you should be fine as long as you don't have any lean running issues... Making the gap smaller will decrease ionization voltage need to jump the gap and increase spark Kv (burn time). Also the smaller the gap the harder it is to ignite a lean afr but I don't think you should have any problem with that.
Yea you should be fine at .026". high boost would be the only problems you run into and by the sounds of it the boost you are running wont be high enough to blow the spark out

ok but how much boost can my engine handle i believe its stock? i just dont wanna go over 18psi and damage it...
Well the bigger the turbo the more air it will produce at the same psi level. For a green I would not go over the 18-20psi you mentioned. You will make nice power at that level, but the best way to do it is to have a data logger or some kind of tuning program and tune it to the knock it is seeing ( and within the a/f ratio for the fuel you are using). You have 660's so knock should not be a big problem at 18-20.
Spark plugs with only BR and not BPR, are spark plugs with a non prutuded tip ( the ceramic part right by the tip) The higher the boost the more chance of catching detonation, the BR spark plug reduce the chance of detonation at high boost and high rpm. People with spark amplifires can open the gap bigger, it burns the fuel better creating more power. 0.26 shoud be just fine for your plugs, start there and see where you are at.
im sayin with my mods is 18.5psi ok to run with a stock 4g63 7-bolt? i mean how much boost can i run that will be safe for the engine?
It's all in the tune and setup. I would recommend a set of head studs if you plan on pushing your setup above 22psi. Stock 7bolts have handled 30psi+ and some pretty high power numbers.
18.5psi huh?, not 18, not 19?
Im running ngk bpr7es plugs,20lbs of boost,fp green turbo,etc...
my gap is at .026 now but i was thinkin to go with .020 i heard its best when running hi boost like that? at .026 i still have misfires..my car is not breakin up at full boost with my gap how it is now but people have said goin lower is better anyway?

so say i gap them lower then .024 will that make my car harder to start?
No AFPR? Worrying about spark plug gap when you don't have an AFPR with a 255 pump is like worrying about a chipped nail when you have a sucking chest wound.
If I were your I would consider dropping to a BPR8ES and running a .24" gap. For your mods it would benefit you more than dropping your gap even more. If it isn't breaking up I would look into why it is misfiring as well. Unless you are sure it's the spark plugs. And turboking15, apparently you can't read the rules either. It's number one on the before you reply rules above every reply box. Please don't create multiple threads pertaining to the same subject. Bring the old one back from the dead if you have to.

Try tightening it just a little bit. Before I had an ignition box, I was running a .023 to get rid of the high boost misfires. Now that I have an ignition box and more boost, I run a .018 gap. I'm not sure how well a tight gap like that would do without an ignition amplifier though.

Why u think that can be the cause of my misfires? cause at full boost it dont misfire or break up but im gappin the plugs down to .024 to see what happens just to be sure.
If you are overrunning the stock regulator then yes that can cause a misfire.
yea im gonna add the afpr kit soon just gotta deal with it for now.

well i just put new plugs in and gapped them at .024 bpr7es so that shoud be fine right?
