Hey,
there's a user here that has a 4g63 on a mirage, what engine is that?? I need some help on some things:
Regarding the swap to a mitsubishi mirage 1994:

1)I can get the EVO III engine with everything, Tranny, ECU etc. for $1,750, is it really difficult to get it in there?
2)Should i get the regular eclipse engine? i mean the car is fairly light and i guess i can get that engine cheaper.
3)What mods can i do to keep myself from getting killed?? i mean brakes, suspension and such, that's a lot of power for a mirage.

Regarding a swap to a 1G or 2G eclipse/talon

Is the engine swap really worth it? It comes with 280bhp and if i can use my tranny it will be cheaper still.

Thanks

if you dont know what a 4g63 is.......slap yourself, hard, then go to your room and think about what youve done

if he doesnt realize what engine the 4G63 is, he should, and probly will do just that...OMG

Wow, tough room. Anyways... The Evo III motor and the 4G63 are the same block. The evo IV's and up run backwards. The difference between the Evo III and the 4G63 are numerous: Different exhaust manifold, injectors, turbo (16G), etc. It's not a bad motor to work with, and $1700.00 isn't bad IF the motor is in GREAT condiditon. In reality, if you're serious about this swap and really want to make it happen, you should build up the motor yourself from a '92 6-Bolt block. You would probably spend more money, but you would learn a lot, and you would be 100% sure of the components going into it. Not to mention that you could wring out a LOT more than just 280HP out of a built 6-bolt.

Good luck,
Matt.

and there was a thread a while ago on this with all kinds of links to webpages of people who did the swap. I SEARCHED and found all the links on google when I posted them in the other thread. mebbe you could SEARCH this site or google and you would find what ur looking for.

I was just wondering, why do people seem to have trouble with the idea of SEARCHING and finding answers themselves? Heck, I've even searched for other people and found many hits easilt. People just don't realize how easy it actually is to find answers to their questions.

and there have been multiple threads on the difference between evo and dsm 4g63's

The evo has race pistons "63DTR" Ive seen them personallly. As in 4G63t I have a 1G.As for your car ,a 2G will bolt up with minor mods.An Evo 3 clip is perfect for a 93-96 Mirage everything will bolt up EX rear end If you can get it.I would shoot for the rears too. There is an Evo coupe in FL that has all the parts from a Evo 3 installled

i posted bout 2 weeks ago with 3 links, 1 of witch told u EVERYTHING u need to know to swap a T/E/L motor into a 93-95 mirage.

im not telling u to SEARCH, but take a hint........

that's the exact thread I had in mind when I posted DSM mechanix. If people only knew the power of google, they could learn new things by themselves instead of relying on someone else to feed them info.
