ok heres my situation, i own a 96 rs with a few mods. i am in the process of buyin a gst with a blown motor for $500 from my bosses brother (needs the money). so my original thought was to buy it, and rebuild the motor from the block up with all proformance parts, i was planning on puttin 1k a month into this motor and just work on it for like 4 or 5 months. then once it was completed i planned on workin on my rs once agian 1k a month for another 5 to 6 months to make it a full show car. so in a year or a little later i would have two cars one for proformance and one for looks.

well some one suggested that i just take the gst and put in a new stock motor. and then sell my rs and use that money for my gst. and redue the motor then.

my whole thought though is why buy a motor that im gonna tear apart and put new parts into anyways, its like buyin the motor twice. so i was wounderin what every ones thoughts and suggestions were.

thanks
Eric

Remember rice kills (birds). Screw your "show" car, all show and no go equals you lose! Honestly, screw your RS, just get the GST, put a 6-bolt in it with '95 pistons (unless you plan on pushing 350+ HP) and go from there.

If I might suggest use your RS as a daily driver dont touch it anymore buy the GST and build the motor from the ground up.

do what you want man.. some people like show and some people like go, some people like both..

personally I want to find this guy selling his GST for 500 bucks and beg him to sell it to me :)

larryd: LOL, thats why i wont be giving out his name or location, the deal is almost done, like i said its my bosses brother, and for lack of a better word he is a crack head/pack rat with storage units full of stuff he refuses to sell so he needs the $500 to pay some of the storage fees. he would never have the money to fix that car. so its kind of a win win situation.

why don't you use you Rs for your daily driver and make you gst Show and Go??

because if you want speed then you want to be light and show usually means more weight in your car, because of stereo and other interior mods. for my gst im gonna go as light as i can. i am almost sure im gonna keep my rs as a daily driver and once the gst is done then decide on what to do with the rs.

i would say sell the rs once the gst has a new motor. it's a FWD car so it's not going to shine at the track (unless you use slicks) it's part in life is to tear up the highways. i would say go all show and all go with the gst. performance + show = :thumb:
