I was just looking on forced performance's website and saw that they are coming out with a new bolt on for the 2g's http://www.forcedperformance.net/dsm_turbo_fp30.htm

I was just wondering what you guys think. Power output, price, that kind of thing. It sounds like it would be badass but i don't know that much about turbo internals

btw sorry if its a repost

its going to cost a decent amount, you car even order yet if you don't know somebody there. one of my friends has one that should be on the car soon. the turbo is insane and will come in 3 different trim levels also

For an all out, hands down badass setup, its the way to go. Its expensive, and not what I would call "bolt on". yes, it bolts to the header, but a customer downpipe and stuff will need to be fabricated. If you have the cash, and want to go all out, its definately a great option. You could also do a full garret GT series with a new header for about the same price.

Best frined just got an FP30 for his galant. it bolts right up but requires a custom downpipe which ryan fellows of RnR Racing made.

FP30 1780
Custom Downpipe 300

2080 that will only run 10's ? not worth it to me.

just get a Garret turbo and manifold and it will push you into 10's and be hundreds less.

only run 10's:confused: the FP 30 looks great, i hope the many forced performance customers enjoy the new product. for 1780 and you will still need a custom down pipe no thanks. but i would not have bought a FP turbo anyway, so it make on difference.

Only 10's? You do not specify what times you are running, but any turbo that runs 10's is quiet impressive…

Besides, Dan K. ran 9.something on larger FP30… And that was before public got a chance to run these turbos (which is good and bad, as I can see some morons bolting it on and running 13's...).

>just get a Garret turbo and manifold and it will push you into 10's and be hundreds less.

Not even in the same league… To make a valid comparison, you will need to take Garret GT turbo, combine it with machined T3 housing (~$1250) and bolt it up to T3 manifold ($500). And you are right back where you would be with FP30 turbo…

...Only you still will not have a proper turbine housing for the turbo…

Cool thanks for the responses guys. I was browsing their site and was wondering if that was gonna be the new t28 of somethig. Obviously, I was way off.

Thanks again

cool, thanks I'll do that. I got my bonus and my tax return coming soon, so i'm hoping to do an upgrade by the end of february.

larryd: you are right. a lot of people are saying a lot of sh|t about this turbo. 90% of them have never even seen it in person, let alone tune it and drive it. some people tend to dog stuff they can't afford...kind of an excuse for them not to get it. i personally have one coming. it will be here next week. when i get it on and tuned i'll let you know how it performs on a real-world daily driver.
**see profile for mods

brought it back from the dead b/c i did a search on "fp30" to see what's been posted on it and relay some words straight from the mouth of FP...not my buddy said this and that b.s. a FP shop car at 23 psi on pump gas went mid-low 11's with 8.5:1 arias pistons, eagle rods, light portwork on head with hks 272's, and stock intake manifold...and that wasn't the at the extent of tuning. the turbo is designed to use the flow characteristics of the gt30 wheel and chra not to spool faster than a green but to have more top end and a steeper hp curve. peek hp is seen at 6000 rpm and stays very close to that thru 8500.. i also posted to let people know i'd be posting in the near future on how it performs on my daily driver with my mods....to give the doubters a little more to base their judgements on.
