I have a bad feeling about this but here it goes. On the way to work today my car dies. Won't start, I have full power, all connectors are connected, engine cranks over fine. So i get a ride home, come back with a logger and I have no signal from crank position sensor. It's just dead. It's on 95 so did it just died because of milage,heat, etc. or is it possible that I have so much crank movement I hit a trigger disc on a sensor? Is that even possible? I didn't have any signs of crankwalk before. When it happened I was going about 90 in 5th gear...
 
Most likely the crank sensor is the culprit. Normally, with CW, there are several symptoms before it gets that bad. My first rebuild walked, and there was over .070" thrust bearing wear. The car still ran, but the clutch would stick, and it had the horrible tick of death.
 
To find out for sure you could tear it down and take a look at the CAS. Look at the reluctor and if you see signs of wear on it then the chances are that after you put in a new CAS, you would be able to hear the ticking noise of the reluctor interfering with the CAS. It just happened to me a week ago sonow im going 6-bolt.
