Since I have posted a pic of my talon running this I have had a ton of pm's & e-mails to my site about how to fit the nearly 3" pipe under the hood while still retaining the benefits of ABS. So here is some pics and I hope these help those of you with desiring to run similiar setups.
specs:
intercooler is a Trust unit, measuring 36" wide 12.5 inches tall, 3.5" thick, endtank outlets are 3.25"

Intake pipe specs:
piping is 2.5" after Honed 2G TB elbow flaring to 3" then using a 3" to 3.25" coupler at intercooler.

Turbo outlet pipe specs:
Buschur 2.25" J-pipe running to 2.25" 90 degree elbow, flaring to 3" to intercooler then 3" to 3.25" coupler at intercooler.

coming through the chassis, just trim that plastic away till it fits.

Upper pipe with BOV (Turbo XS) keep it close to the ABS unit, this is key

God damn thats some huge piping!
I hope you have a turbo upgrade planed soon, becuase that has got to take forever to presurize-
 
I plan on pushing the limits of the stock turbo. I probably wont change the turbo till I get back to Japan. She already has internals done, i.e. rods and pistons, compression"secret"for now. headwork done. and then of course all the obvious performance goodies. And with the compression and ponies shes pushing the lag is not so bad. when she starts pulling its all over. Traction is actually my biggest concern. on really hard pulls she gets squirelly in third. :thumb:

I firgured you had to have SOMETHING else done. :)

After you told me that you got that intercooler in Japan, I looked for it on the web and only found it for $2300. :cry:

That better be some bad mother f#$king intercooler!

I like the end tanks, looks like they would smooth the air flow alot and provide minimal dynamic pressure drop.

I hear you brother. I new stuff like that would be crazy here inthe states when I came. thats why I brought plenty of goodies to keep me busy with the car till I go back to Japan next year. I know this is going to hurt but I bought the Intercooler second hand in japan for about 300 bucks us currency! :cool:
 
yea, she seems to spin them pretty easy. And I run 18's-225/40/18. I just need to get more 1/4 practice runs. I dont know if other tuned 1g's pull really hard in 3rd. But that is where she pulls so hard it feels like a space shuttle launch. But anyway the tires break loose. I'm probably going to pick up a real fat set of light 16's with some really fat rubber for the track. Since I do no track prep, swapping tires for the 1/4 is a small compromise for the added grip.
 
I want traction issues with AWD in dry weather.

Just hope that center diff is good.
 
yup! They are pretty cheap in Japan because there are some many generations of GTR's roaming the land and on the road. The GTR intercooler is used for most aftermarket tuning setups. There are prefab pipe kits for the 180's, silvias and a number of other cars that utilize this FMIC. :)
 
Sorry, I do not deal parts. International shipping tends to be a little on the spendy side. So even when I was in Japan we did not sell parts internationally. There is such so much additonal red tape with all that.
 
Found another picture I had forgot to post. This shows just excatly how much bigger the Trust unit is. Looks to be about 6 or more stock ones.
