gsx AUTO ecu in his 95 MANUAL gst

Ok lets make a long story short...
I have a 98gsx which is auto, and Im looking for an eprom ecu, and my buddy that I sold my 95 gst has the stock one. He owes me 125 bucks and I bet he'd let me swap him ecu's instead of paying. He's not into cars, nor will he ever need an eprom. BUT, the gst is a manual. My question is "What would I have to do to use my gsx AUTO ecu in his 95 MANUAL gst"? Is it possible to trade? thanks in advance guys

Does not matter whether it's auto or manual IIRC. Do the swap.

All ecus are the same, auto or manual. The auto trans is controlled by a separate computer.

Transmission and drivetrain type doesn't matter when it comes to 2g ECU's. You will have to swap some plug wires around since the CAS signal is inverted. Also, be careful if you have OBD emissions testing in your area because of the MIL bug in the 95 ECU's.

Nate, transmission does change one thing in 2g ECU's. AWD ECU's have no speed limiter, where FWD ECU's do.

I know, but I was just referring to driveability, since the question was:
