What exactly is the point of Adjustable cams on a stock cam. Does it still help and if so how much performance does it really add? Would it be worth adding without heaving modding? I know a lot a dudes with hondas that have them on there cars but I think its mainly just looks or whatever.

the affects of adjustable cams will be magnified the more that the car is modded. Of course the most obvious complement to having adjustable cam gears would probably be aftermarket cams. So, sure, adjustable cam gears (when set right) would probably give some benefits to stock cams, but not really large gains or anything.

BUT: my brother has an all motor LS honda engine that he built up. Completely untuned he did 3 runs. Then, we advanced the cams (Crower stage 2s) by 2 degrees and he cut off 0.7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on the ET. Thats a HUGE diffrence, so I would say, no, not all them honda guys with em have them for looks (although, its true, I do see many honda guys that have Very few mods and adj, cam gears, probably for looks).
