Stock 1g BOV... Leaks?

If the throttle plate's closed, there's no pressure from the intake manifold (BOV boost source) reaching the top of the BOV diaphragm to hold it shut.

It's the only thing I can think of....there's no reason a Dodge Garage Modded BOV should leak at 10psi.

Yes it is closed,
I put a crushed 1g on yesterday. Going to do another boost leak test today and see what the results are.... If its the same, which I think shouldn't.... I might switch to a HKS SSQV or Greddy Type R

I don't think you understand what I'm saying.

If the plate is CLOSED, which you agreed that is IS, then there's no pressure from the intake manifold to hold the valve SHUT....which is how it operates under normal driving. The way you're testing, it's only operating under spring pressure.

If you install another DSM BOV or Greddy BOV, they'll do the same thing unless you're supplying the same amount of pressure that's in the intercooler piping to the nipple on top of the BOV.

So I should have the Throttle Plate open? While trying this?

Sorry to bring back a 2 month old thread but if there was no pressure at the intake plenum to hold the BOV shut why would a properly routed boost gauge read pressure? Also if no air could get by the throttle plate the car would not ever idle.

I'm having the same problem with a leak out my BOV when I do a boost leak test and just wanted clarification on this.

Thanks
