2G-specific Hard cold start problems/ cooling fan always on

My car has a bad starting problem, it will start shut off start shut off and keep going but when it warms up a little bit its fine but when its idling/running the cooling fan is constantly on I searched and didin't see a problem like mine, I am assuming its my coolant temp sensor, any other ideas any one?

look up (no start) i had this problem before . do's the car start right up after its bin running for a while? if so that is most likely the prob. if so its only about 25$ to fix. do you have a heavy gas smell when trying to start? or a big ploom of black smoke out the back when it start's?. also my (cel) was tripped from this problem. is yours?

sounds like the sensor. i would try the bone yard first and get the sensor there. not sure if the were diff from the years but its worth a shot. or if you get it from autozone and the problem still there you could always just get a refund from them. my gsx would crank till it was just about dead battery then fire up and look like an old john deer tractor.(alot of smoke) but once it was at running temp it would fire right up.

Sounds like a classic coolant temp sensor issue.

It's the temp sensoror the wiring harness for it. My friend with a 95 gst had the same problem. Hard cold start problems, fans are constantly on and no CEL. We found the harness for the sensor is broken.

Mine does the same, but it's attributed to the fact that my FP3's are 6* adv on the intake, and 5* retarded on the exhaust. Car does not like cold startups. Once the O2 warms up and starts cycling though, it's all gravy.

Could having the fans always on through DSMLINK cause this hard start condition when cold?

Could you expand on this. Ive been watching this thread and searching others because im having the same problem. I found a diagram posted for these sensors for a 1 g but i cant find where they all are and what they do on a 2g.
Im pretty sure ive already replaced the wrong one (cause i broke it pulling off a connector before) I want to make sure i get the right one without having to buy all three
