Ok I have a 2g eclipse gsx. The previous owner had a 1G long block installed with 2G everything else parts. I installed a 1G TB and looking to install the 1G intake mani. I just have a few questions. I tried to search but I didn't find anything similar to my situation. Since I already have a 1G block and I don't have to port the head ss it a simple bolt on install? Can you walk me through the install? Do I have to relieve the fuel for the fuel rail? And I heard about a sensor that comes on the 1G intake mani, do I need one of those and what sensor is it? Thanks

From what I understand you can't put a 1g manifold on a 2g head. The ports don't line up. Someone corret me if i'm wrong.
No, I pretty sure thats is incorrect. I've read a thread where a DSMer used a Cyclone head (1g style) on his 2g, but it could also be that he had a 1g head. As far as I know that install should be straight forward. The easiest way to find out is to place a 2g intake manifold gasket on 1g intake manifold and see how it lines up.

Here is a pic to compare

Now here is the deal. It will bolt up to the 2g head, but as stated the port does no match 100% and the head should be ported to match the bigger runner on the 1g intake manifold. The easier thing to do would be to just swap on a 1g head.

OP stated a 1g LONGBLOCK . That would include the head . So he has a 1g head on it . Unless he meant to say short block .
