Well the Talons dead right now:needs at least starter, clutch, transfer case. Also may need transmission, and I would like a new front bumper.

I have two options to fix it:
1.)A guy desperate for money is selling a '90 with a blown motor and:
-New clutch (Clutch Masters race something)
-Good transmission
-Good transfer case (I'm not 100% sure it will fit, but I'll trade it or something if it doesn't)
-Good Starter
-Good front bumper
-17" Rims
-Extra Block (He didn't get pistons for it yet.)
-Good Head
-Other stuff I don't need, and will probablly sell.
*He's selling for $1500 cash.

2.)Found a nice clean 96' 2G Talon for $5900.
-TSi Turbo AWD
-I can swap many of my parts into it
-110K miles
-Green (I would prefer black)
-Sun roof.... leather... blah... blah...

*Option 1 is cheaper, but I'm not 100% sure the Talon will work 100% with these parts, and I'll have to pay labor to get them all swapped. Oh yeah, I only have $1000 right now.

*Option 2 has more miles than my car(mine has 100K miles), but it works!

Thanx,

there is a differnece in the 90 and 93 model transmissions, the spline numbers and a few internal parts are weaker on the 90 model trans., they are not the best option if you are going to be running the car hard.

Dude if i was in your position i too would love to have a 2G if it had a 6bolt swap in it...but i too do not have more than $1000 to work with to afford a 2G. My orriginal option was 1. Buy a 88-91 CRX for less than $1000 and do a B16DOHC swap, but the swap kit, harnesses, a/c brackets blah blah blah, all added up to be more $2-3000 SOOOO, i opted for option 2. Buy a buddies 90 AWD for $500 and pay the shop that it was at $1600 for the rebuild they just did on the blown motor with 54,000 miles...also for another $430 he threw in a 2.5" catback, UICP and a Blitz SS BOV. I am about 2weeks from getting the car out but i am confident that choice 2 was the right one. PS: My first car was a '91GST "and i was told i would come back to the dark side"

I have credit so I can finance the 2G.
