Just wondering if any one has gotten over 400whp on the stock sidemount. I believe Aslan had 420hp on the stocker. If so what turbo did it take and what other major mods?
thanks

i think his results may have been "juiced"
but 380 seems to be a good limit...you wont be able to get much boost outta the stock...thats why i recently purchased a supra SMIC (that and a RX7 fuel pump and injectors, and rewired fuel pump).

Im sure you can make a decent bit of power out of the stock sidemount for a dyno pull or quartermile pass but it will heatsoak BAD and be totally useless if all conditions aren’t perfect.

The stock sidemount is a very big bottleneck. Truth be told, my car would have likely made MORE power on nitrous with a straight pipe from the turbo outlet to the throttle body. The stock sidemount was basically 'along for the ride' so to speak.

Regards,

Wouldnt a supra sidemount still be holding a 400hp car back and cause it to detonate. I know the car will have alot less horsepower with smic vs fmic but will it still make 400 to the wheels without destroying a piston.
How did you NOT have detonation on the sidemount Aslan?

Do you think I could use a supra MKIV sidemount on a 20g and run near 20psi? My goal is to run 12's? Do you think that the supra ic would heatsoak quickly? How about if I get a N20 intercooler chiller kit? Would I be fine?

I run 20 psi on my 20g all day every day with my Supra SMIC. After proper tuning, knock is almost nonexistant. I don't plan on doing long highway pulls or more than a couple quarter mile passes in a row without spraying it down in the summer. The supra SMIC is an excellent intercooler for the money.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM me.

Joe

what about dejontool's twin SMIC? That shouldn't cause temps to rise at all and you should be able to pull more boost. :dsm: :thumb:
