I'm really debating on which route to go as far as my downpipe goes... i have a 2G AWD with an A'pexi N-1 exhaust, so basically i have three options. RRE's downpipe with optional cat... A'pexi's 'front pipe' with no cat at all.. or a custom job. I've been leaning towards the A'pexi solution simply because i can get it for about $190 shipped, while the RRE is $230+shipping+a whole lot more if i want the optional interchangeable race pipe/cat. I'm looking to hear some opinions from owners of the N-1 front pipe, and knowing its not emissions legal i would probably be putting the stocker back on, come inspection time. How well does it perform? How much LOUDER was it over stock? I'm always a bit leery of obnoxiously loud exhausts with no cat but i know that's the only way to get the most power is if you get rid of the cat... oh yea and is the AWD downpipe actually 3"? I heard FWD ones were smaller...

wow really? i'm still on the stock turbo and i remember when i put the N-1 on it gave it a nice healthy volume increase but its not really that loud IMO, it just sounded great. however i've always heard once you open up the downpipe and get rid of the cat, its pretty damn loud. does the N-1 front pipe have any resonators in it that you could notice?

n1 exhaust and front pipe is awsome. Might as well get the whole apex exhaust system. Plus is very similar to the RRE front pipe.

the N1 is super sweet..only one thing..when we took it off, we found out there was a crack right where the weld for the bracket was..does anyone know if there is a guarantee?

Yes I have the the APEXi GT downpipe, it looks great and made a noticeable difference, it also bolted right up to my APEXi dunk cat-back exhaust. http://www.apexi-usa.com/exhausts_frontpipe.asp The system sounds great and have'nt found any problems. The Dunk system has a resinator in the system and seems to help with sound alot.
