I am trying to determine how my fuel curve is doing during cruise and I just wanted to find out what peoples readings are during idle and during an 80mph cruise.

Please tell me your EGT readings either in degrees C or F, I can do the conversion and at what RPM that is at. I am really looking for numbers around 1000 RPM idle and about a 3800rpm 80mph cruise. Thanks for the help.

Hrm, 3800 RPM's s is around 85mph? I usually see around
800C at around 80mph which is 1472F
At 70mph its usually around 780C or 1436F

Thanks guys, keep em coming. I just want to see if I am running lean or rich at cruise and idle. I thought I was running really rich at idle with a reading of 1100F at 1000rpm but I guess not. Gives me that warm fuzzy I have been looking for.

I wonder why your readings are so much lower than mine Mista.
I'm usually at 800C or +-10C at 80MPH and I know that i'm not knocking nor too rich or lean ..at WOT i'm around 9.75 - 10:1 airfuel on 93 octane gas. I just assumed this was normal as a friends car is about the same way.

That is the exact reason why I started this thread. How the hell do you know if you are running rich or lean at idle. Granted, you can base it off of LTFT and what not, but isn't the stock ECU naturally rich and therefore if you match the LTFT to 0%, you are really running richer than needed? Someone give me some theory on this one.

Another thing you guys have to consider is where the EGT probe is placed. Different cylinders yeild different temps, also the size of the turbine housing has an effect on the temp too, it might be a good idea if people note where the probe is located

Mine is on runner 2

My Turbo Specs:

Mitsubishi TD05H 7CM turbine housing with TD06 turbine wheel, Mitsubishi TD06 20G style compressor housing with 3" inlet, with 690CFM Garrett compressor wheel. :D

Don't forget ignition timing. It can have a large effect on EGTs.

Would'nt injector size have an effect on egt's also, to add to your question?
