Ok guys i'm trying to remove my stock exhaust to throw on my new turboback... but i CANNOT get the rear o2 sensor off of the system. It is totally fused... i've coated it with liquid wrench 10 times, and i am getting the best leverage i can while under the car, still it hasnt budged a mm. is there any wa y i can disatach it from the car without unscrewing it from the exhaust, so that i can get it to a clamp and get better leverage? Or any other recommendations on getting it out? thanks

Yes you wil be forced to cut it out or use a blow torch on it.

i dont have access to a blow torch of any kind, and even if i did i dont have the skills to use it (though i could fudge it, hah)... is there not a way to remove the oxygen sensor entirely, wire and all from the car? Certainly there has to be, or what would the dealer do if you came in w/ a faulty sensor/wire? I cant find it anywhere in the service manuals... maybe i just suck at searching them...

thanks anyway guys, but i just threw the stock exhaust back on, as i leave for school in 2 days. i'll just attach the exhaust when i'm back in 4 months, on summer vacation from berkeley. Or just drive down to SD and have ryan do it for me :)

That sucks that you won't be able to enjoy your exhaust for anotehr 4 months. We like the to use K&N fliter oil. It really penetrates good and helps to break things loose. Also a big breaker bar.

really? hmm. haven't tried that one yet. i like the pb blaster and there was a discussion going on for a while about 'mouse milk' wasn't the you, l2rtsiawd, that recommended that one? I'm just not up for milking a mouse...j/k =)

the worst bolts I've had to take out were 02 sensors and flywheel bolts. for 02 sensors, i use a 24" crescent wrench, pb blaster, torch and 26 oz hammer.
to get my flywheel bolts off took 2 250 lb guys hanging on the end of a 2' breaker bar and another tapping with a hammer (1000+ ft. lb of torque)

its funny that you mention this, I just had the same problem with my rear o2 sensor.. I tried 3 different size adjustable wrenches on that sucker and all the WD40 in the world wasnt gonna help me.. I was smacking it with a hammer but just couldnt get a grip on the sensor enuf to ge it to budge. I eventually ended up with a large pair of vice grips on it and clamped that sucker down and broke it loose with the hammer.

Try letting the car run for awhile to get the exhaust hot. Then try breakign it loosewhile its still hot. I had the same problem with my front O2. It would not budge with any amount of torque I put on it. Afetr I heated it up by running the car, it came right out.
