pressure washing exhaust system

Hey... I just bought a used exhaust system... RRE downpipe+Thermal catback, and although its still in decent shape, anyone know of any reason why I can't take it down to the local car wash and pressure wash it? I know it won't hurt the outside... all stainless steel... but would it hurt the interior of the pipes? I'm especially worried about the interior of the actual muffler itself. Would it hurt if I got water inside the muffler, or should I just stay away from that? Obviously it'd be on the rinse cycle... no soap suds or anything like that. Just a question... I don't see why not, but I don't know hardly anything about the interior design of the thermal muffler except that its straight through.

if it's stainless, I don't see why not. The thermal is definetly but the rre comes in ss and regular. Just make sure you let it dry thoroughly before you put it in

why even let it dry thoroughly before you put it back in? Your exhaust has water in it all the time... it's one of the resulting products of combustion. The hot exhaust gases would help dry it quickly and you would effectively steam clean it.

I was just leary of spraying water inside the muffler... not exactly sure what the interior of the muffler is made of, whether or not its made of stainless or a different material that will rust or be ruined from water.

if it is a straight-through, it is a material much like steel wool. It is similar to (and based on) 'glass-packs' which are fiberglass inside. If you are worried, just call RRE and ask them
