I am boosting a 14b to 20psi. Is that normal? It is ported with a ported 95 exhaust manifold.

Yeah it is normal but you should lower the boost down to 16 or 17 because it is pushing that amount of pressure but the air is so hot it isnt enough volume to make the car faster.

Depends on what exatcly the setup is. I know that 20psi from a 14b can make more hp than 16-17. Just depends on the situation

Define "Normal".

I have seen 14b's@20psi. I hope you have some fuel upgrades to support that.

I have a 255 fuel pump, s-afc, and i have no clue what injectors. They are not the stockers. I am taking it to my shop and they are going to figure it out. I bought the car with those injectors. The only problem is that I have a nasty backfire when i floor it. I have no clue what is going on. If anyone has any bright ideas.....let me know. :dsm:

the backfire is from raw fuel being dumped in and firing at odd times

knock down the initial fuel delivery a couple clicks and you should be fine

20psi from a 14b will heat soak the stock intercooler in 5 seconds.

Atleast at 16psi it will last awhile because the turbo is a little more effecient at that boost level.

not sure, but i think you will melt your 14b running at 20psi...

I've been running around 20 psi for a few months now, and no problems yet... I run 93 octane gas and give the car hell regularly... If it messes up then, oh well... time for a 20g...!

I'd be more worried about messin up the motor, not the turbo.

Well really, I don't see where I have much option... The MBC is set at 16 psi, but the damn thing creeps all the way to 21psi... It's out of my hands until I can get a ported 02 housing and port the wastegate hole, agreed?

Stock intercooler should be able to handle 17psi or 18psi.... no? I'm getting a 190lph pump and looking to run 17-18psi.. I have a 3" o2 elim exhaust, 3" intake, only thing is i have stock intercooler pipes and intercooler... Something tells me it should do fine on 17-18 psi though...

I have a 90tsi AWD

I had no problem when I ran your current set up, except I had the walbro 255lph... Only difference...

I have a 14B that had like some sorry ass stock setting of 7 psi. then i had work done to the head and when i got back into my car. it was boosting at 14 psi so i got worried. then i blew out the idle adjustment screw. so what u guys are saying is that me boosting at 14 is nothing and I will be fine forever?

that 17-20 wont be fine with all stock parts i dont believe.

And what parts would keep it from being ok? I have a 3" intake with a K&N, and a 3" Exhaust... and will have plenty of fuel... the only thing i'm worried about is overdoing the intercooler... which if people have gone 11's on it.. i dont think i'm going to be too worried about it...

Just wanted some opinions :) And i'm not flaming you, just wondering why you said what u did.
