ok getting new car soon, either 97-99 GSX or 95-99 VR4. If i get the GSX i will defintily putting an L2R in it, but i wasn't complete sure what internals (besides injectors) i would need to upgrade as well, so if you know please share.:thumb:
 
sounds like uve got at least 20 grand if u want to get a decent vr4. i say if you have enough cash to bpu the vr4 then get that. if you wont have enough cash to do anything to it, then get the gsx and you will have plenty left over for mods.

No way. Depending on year you can pick up a vr4 or stealth for well under 15k. If you had 20 to spend we all know a certaint toyota that falls in that price range :)
 
aren't the tranny's on the vr4's worse than ours? I can't remember if it as an earlier year or not, but i remember reading it
 
Yeah but a 99's arent cheaper than 20 grand. But if you saw a 99 in person you would definantly know it is worth every penny.

Yeah it really is about area. I have seen maybe 1 or 2 turbo Supras running around the Reading area. When I was shopping for an MKIV 2 or 3 years ago I was seeing a few around 18k. It is reasonable to assume that you could find a ragged out example for under 18k today. Keeping in mind that the first thing you are going to want to do is spend another 4k on it to do basic maintenance get it to the BPU level and all of this is for a car with 110k+ on the clock.

HUH the stock 6 speed holds up pretty good. It is the transfer case that messus up.

And Kormex makes great transmission stuff.

I am sure a transmission and transfer case holding up to over 150 6500 clutch dumps is considered weak to you. But this isnt a perfect world we live in and #### breaks when you rag on it.
