power ratio?

ive heard its 60/40 front wheels having more power but dont quote me on it.

Having a heavy engine and trans almost directly over the front wheels doesn't help, either.

well then engine and trans are generally towards the front in most cars sold in america. MOST, i know there are exceptions. like the toyota mr2. but whatever.

- how do you know your front tires break loose first? and if they do its probably because there is a lot less weight in the back.

- its only 50/50 if you weld the center diff...

Most "sports cars" *don't* have both the engine *and* transmission sitting over the front wheels. This is a FWD layout which is far from optimal from a cornering standpoint for many reasons. No BMW, Porsche, Corvette, Mercedes, or Ferrari has a FWD (WWD) layout.

I doubt your rear wheels break loose before your fronts. When you launch, weight is transfered to the back. This causes the front tire(s) to spin.

Most viscus coupling x-fer cases I know of are 60/40.

is it 60/40 by design or is that just the physics?
