i think is the past few days i have looked at every turbo known to man, i want to upgrade my turbo, but i just dont know which one to get. i want a fast spoo up so i was thinkin about the bigT28 Killer, but then i just think that is to small, then i was thinkin about the big16G. but from what i heard it takes along time to spool. now im not a turbo genious so i need your imput. my goals, unlike everybody else, is not to be a 10 second street car. i just wanna set nicely in the 12 second rage. im running around mid 13's now. but i just need some imput on turbo's. also what is the most boost i can run of a stock turbo....safely?

:dsm: thanks :dsm:

Did you look at the L1R, if it does what AGP claims, it should flow more than the Killer, and almost as much as the 20G, but has quick spool. It is very expensive though- $1450 with an internal gate!

I am thinking about going with a TD06 20G - TDO5 unclipped turbine with ported 7cm housing. This should spool pretty quick and have a better top end than the BIG16G.

FYI the T28 Killer uses the Big 16G compressor wheel, it's just in a package that bolts onto the 2G car without any install kit. So for 1G there is the Big 16G, and for the 2G you have the T28 Killer. Same same, but not same same.

:dsm: Dont push more than 22psi with the stock unit on race day. street use I used to keep it at 17psi.
Turbos...??? Yes I know its hard. I drove a 16g The power was nice, but wasent all that. Another friend has a 19c Frankenstein jr., nice powerband but upper rps I didn't care to well for it, but Its still nice.
I have the HRC super 20g and I like it alot better than the above, not because I can beat my friends, but the overall power the 20g has is like night and day. Ill let you decide.

well how much boost can you run on that 20g. does it bolt right up to a 2g or do i need install kits and stuff? what are you running with that turbo?

thanks for all the help guys i appreciate it. :thumb:

its not about how much boost can I run, I would look at a compressor map, to see effecince at different boost levels and how many Lbs/min the turbo flows, but beware of different sites supplying different compressor maps for the same turbo. on the 20g I have heard 34 psi on race gas, but you should get 20psi out of any turbo in the whp level your looking at, but it depends on your fuel set up, your tunning ability or lack of(dont know you) and if you say 16g and lag you have problems befor you even get out of the T-tosmall. But the L1R gets 25 or 30psi by 2900rpm or a little less in some cars(if I remeber right) now thats good spool up, with my turbo I dont plan on full boost untill 4600-4800rpm in 3rd but its a T3/T4 60trim stage 3 .82AR turbo. But the 20G with cams/fuel tunning will be responsive and get you more then what you want but the Big 16g spools like the 14b so if you want a 750dollar turbo, go with the 16g. Or use your higher compression motor and get a good 14b run 23-24psi on race gas, cams, timing, fuel, and you could run mid-low12s on it with exaust and a 1g IC(a little better if I recall) Good luck, hope this helps.
