I was curious so I checked what my Aeromotive AFPR was set to...

It was set to 60psi when I removed the vacuum line!!! Holy mother of fuel! No wonder my mpg has been sucking! :talon: I thought I had set it to 38.3 approx with the vacuum line off. Maybe I did it wrong but it is a very simple system. Weird thing is at 60psi it was running great, it running great at 38.3 psi as well. I have a walbro 190 lph pump, super simple modified vacuum system, egr eliminated including egr blockoff plate. By ear, it seems to be running flawlessly now. Like butter. My ear isn't a precision measuring system tho. I am going to be saving money towards dsm link etc as soon as possible. I am still running the stock 450 cc injectors and don't go over 17psi of boost as it sits now. That 60 psi was at idle with the car fully warmed up.

I'm surprised the car even ran well at 60 psi.

Base fuel pressure in a 2G is 43 psi (43.5 to be exact), not 38. You may be running lean under boost. Do you have a logger to see if you are knocking?

Now I have been getting some conflicting information here. When I had installed the Aeromotive AFPR I looked up information to my hearts content and 43.5 was the base pressure I came up with. Later on I found another thread saying that a 2G should be set to 38.3 with the vacuum source detached.:(

I have question. 1g is suppose to be sat at 37psi and 2g at 43.5 right. What about if you have a 1g and are running the 2g compression (8.5:1) do you still use the 1g fuel rate of 37 psi w/vac line detach. I mean why are the psi different in the 1g vs 2g?????

The computer you use sets it, not the engine. If you are using a 1g computer, use 37.

I usually get 160 to 180 mp tankful. I'm at 180 miles now and only 3/4 on the way thru this tankful! Would it be prudent to expect a third better gas mileage since my fuel pressure was set a third too high? Ah well... Holy schmoley! The car is really running nicely. I don't think it has ever run this good! Smooth even power production. No stuttering. Seems like i may have to reset the idle now but that's ok.

Not exactly a third. You were running those injectors at 530cc when pushing them to 60psi RC Fuel Injection
(or maybe 570 if the 450cc rating is from 37psi)

Either way 1/3rd of 440 is 147. You do have a happier car, and that is the important part!

I just finished that tank of gas and finished up at a whopping 219.4 miles for that tank! The tank before that stopped at 160 miles! That is the best this car has done in years in around town driving!!! And I reset the AFPR to the correct psi halfway thru that tank! I'm hoping to see 240 out of this current tank!

Great news about your mileage!!! I can never do any better than 180 per tank in the city./. equalling about 16 MPG :( On the highway i do much better, but i've been working on my tune with the closed loop turned off so it has to make less corrections ( i have to do this everytime i make amajor change) and I've gotten to where i get the same miles per gallon with teh cams as i was getting before them. But trying to get at least 20mpg is getting harder and harder for some reason....

I guess i whould look before asking your mods, but is there anything done that's not in your profile?>

HKS cams I had them installed years and years ago at this shop called hyperformance in Milwaukee WI. I'm not sure if they are still around or not. I think they were 264 degree cams? Maybe 268degree? I forget. I remember they were very expensive. It's been a long time and memory not so good. Maybe 8 or 9 years ago. I was doing a lot of street racing back then and I wanted a cam for the 0-60mph torque and bottom end. I got them specifically for a lot of grunt from the low end. Back then I was spending every Friday and Saturday night at highway 100 in Milwaukee racing like a fiend. I also have AEM adjustable cam gears but both are set to zero. I gotta look thru my profile and edit it.
