Would there be any benefits from a running an air/air intercooler (FMIC) in series with a water/air intercooler?

The setup would be:

Turbo outlet--> FMIC--> Water/Air intercooler--> Throttle body

Not particularly, no. Any potential load you take off the air/water intercooler by using the air/air intercooler in series beforehand is negated by the fact that you're still limited by ambient temps. An efficient enough air/air intercooler has been shown to keep intake temps well under control.

The biggest benefit of an air/water setup is the ability to ice down your water on a drag strip.
