I know the torques specs and torque order for the exhaust manifold to head on a 7-bolt so I am just wondering exactly how do you properly torque the nuts on the bottom of the exhaust manifold? I just don't see how my torque wrench could fit with a socket attached to it. Any input is greatly appreciated.

With a turbo attached I don't see it being possible. I just tighten them as much as I can with a wrench without putting my body into it. I developed a feel for it though by tightening the ones I could with a wrench to where I thought it was to spec and then testing with the torque wrench.

Thats what I was thinking - just tighten them in the correct order with as close to equal force as possible. Even with the turbo off, I don't see how you could fit a cumbersome torque wrench in there to get the bottom nuts, especially the 3 in the middle.

How have other people torqued their exhaust manifolds to the proper specs all around?

You can reach all of the nuts with the turbo on or of. I us a swival head socket but its not needed, but make things easier. Also us a magnet or needal nose plyers. Sorry for the spelling my heads in another world today. Also i believe u need a 6" extantion to get the one's under the turbo.

With the turbo installed it is next to impossible to torque those nuts down with a torque wrench.

With the turbo off, it is easy. Get a 10-12" extension and go to town. You may have to crawl underneath the car and do it, may not.

I don't get why people have issues with this  Get a 12mm socket wrench with extension for the top ones and a swivel socket with extension for the bottom ones? I've gone as far as using a ratcheting wrench on this too?

Same here? Hm, oh well. I wouldnt bother torquing your manifold studs, I mean, I never have. Just tight enough that you dont have to put a lot of ass to make it tighter. And if you insist and try a swivel with your torque wrench, its not going to be right.
