Ok...I just got the upper and lower intercooler piping kit from greddy with the type s blow off valve...Im not overly mechanically inclined...but Im no tard either. Getting the stock piping off where the blow off valve was a little tough due to the two bolts under the blow off valve that mount the plastic pipe to the car.

My question is now that I took off the stock lower intercooler pipe I see that there is a black plastic resevoir looking thing thats connected to the intercooler. In order to get the greddy pipe to fit properly it looks like I have to pull this thing out. What the heck is it. And is it ok to remove it.

Also there are two metal pipe fittings on the new blow off valve. I connected the tube that went to the stock one but I didnt hook anything up to the lower fitting. Is this ok. I am assuming so.

Thanks for any and all help.

ya that big black thing was in my way also, i took a steak knife and cut it off. i was later informaed that it was only in like 95 maybe 96 models? as a 'turbo noise reducer' so i mean ya get rid of it. its just a big piece of plastic thats 'restricting the flow'

Ok now im pissed. I tried everything to get that stupid pipe on to no avail. The lower intercooler pipe actually touches the turbo on the top and the intercooler on the bottom. Its supposed to you say. No it isnt. Thats what the couplers are for. You need a little space to wedge the damn thing in there.
I guess im going to have to unhook the intercooler and angle the thing in there. I cant believe Im the only person to do this and have problems. Please someone let me know if you have a simple solution that I havent thought of. Thanks

When I installed mine, it was also a pain. What I found out works really good is to apply some oil on the coupling on both end, which makes them more movable, and slowly wiggle it in the turbo elbow, and the the intercooler elbow. It a tight fit, hope you can get it in there!

So no one answered me on what the second nozzle on the blow off valve does. Its below the one I hooked up that goes into the manifold. The BOV also came with a T-connector and some hose. Was I supposed to use this stuff.

Thanks

B.

Final note. After removing the two bolts that hold the intercooler in I was able to wedge the pipe in there. This is really a must as there was no other way to make it fit. Blow off valve sounds sweet, I cant wait to see how the pitch changes when I upgrade the intake pipe to a metal one.

I didn't know putting on a couple of pipes was rocket science:rolleyes:

That extra "T" fitting is used only if you are running a different turbo than the stock T-25...In other words, it is used when you have a boost controller, and the other side would go to the wastegate...
