I had a fubared EvoIII16g exhaust housing, so I ported a standard 16g housing I had laying around and bolted it up. On the 16g housing, I ported the outlet to be 2.5 (matches the EvoIII O2 housing I have), and ported a bit behind the flapper. I also very lightly ported the entrance to the WG flapper, but barely. I gasket matched the housing and O2 both at the turbine and WG openings.

Now I have HORRENDOUS boost creep, worse than the original E3 TH before I ported it. I creep to 22psi no matter what. And that is with an extended throw WGA.

So... how can I modify the 16g housing further to elminate as much creep as possible? Should I hog the crap out of the WG entrance, or maybe open up the flapper hole to help with this?

Would a different exhaust housing work better with the EvoIII CHRA and O2 housing? I don't think my E3 TH can be easily fixed, and I don't wanna spend $$$$$ on a new one if I don't have to...and it would still creep some anyway :)

While we're at it... what is the A/R for each of the standard mitsu exhaust housings?

All the 16g turbine housings have the same a/r : 7cm^2. I am under the impression that the evo3 16g turbine housing has identical SHAPE, port shape, casting, etc. as the other 16g 7cm^2 housings. . . Except for the outlet diameter.

The only difference I can see from your previous setup to now is your port work.

I suggest getting a BEP turbine housing. No creep, a little more flow, and about the same spool speed.

Or get a larger wastegate flapper.

Or just run high enough boost so it doesn't creep. :thumb:

LOL...

yeah that's what I'm doing for the moment, while it's in the 30s. I have a pretty decent tune at 23psi right now, with link showing about 320 at the wheels.

But it will only be a couple months and the Oklahoma heat will kill me. :)

The 16g TH has a lot more meat on it than the E3 does. I think I'll pull it and just hog the sh_t out of the entrance to the flapper.

Matt,

Do you have a link and any more info on the BEP housing?

thanks guys
