I am in the process of tuning my engine, and I've been thinking and thinking for a week now on ways to tune different stuff. I know the main essentials to a Turbo'd engine and stuff like that. But I keep getting stuck at that area. I feel I need atleast a good run down of the turbo engine, or diagrams of how things run. I'm trying to do this properly. So I need to make up a VERY GOOD PLAN. I am very good about going about things, its just the actual tuning that sometimes gets me confused when doing it, I allways seem to do something the wrong way, and then it starts off a chain reaction and I end up in the garage for a week tampering with #### to get it right. That must not happen this time.

What, specifically, are you trying to 'tune'?

There's not much to 'tune' in the current configuration in your profile; the stock ECU does a pretty good job of that all by itself.

For more information, I must commend you to the $2 Technical Manual, which you will find on the DSM Manual CD (www.manualcd.com).

LOL
I'm making a plan, as I stated in my previous post. I am going through all the parts I'm about to purchace, what I will do to them, how I will mount them and intergrate them with the entire engine. Involving Turbo Engines, Upgradeing Turbo Engines, I want to be precise!!! I don't want to just go buy a exhaust manifold with an External Waste Gate Housing, then spend another 400+ bucks on an External Waste Gate and let it sit there with nothing to do but show off for looks. I want to tune everything perfectly. I'm making a parts list and I'm stuck on Exhaust Manifold, I'm getting a list put together of what I am going to purchace, and in the cliff notes I'm writing down any special way that I'm going to install a sertain part.

Sounds like your making this more complictaed then it really is...your car is stock. Go put the basic things on, like exhuast, intake, BOV,MBC, those kinda things then ask questions about the more complicated stuff :D

And BTW your stock exhaust manifold is fine, you could always take it off and port it out.

Yea, I know that allready but I'm just trippin on alot of things, I would like to know. And its not realy complicated stuff, there is just too much info running through my brain, thanks for helping....umm LOL

I'm going by that. And I'm somewhat done getting my Turbo area done, I just need to write up the cliffnotes. I wanted something that I could read, look at and study about "How A Turbo Works, How A Wastegate Works, How A BOV Works, And How They Interact With Each Other". I'm not dumb and know nothing, I just don't know everything. I somewhat found something, but I don't think its enough. I wan't to be a smart buyer. But I talked with my friend who owns a VERY POWERFUL Lazer AWD, and helped me out and I know exactly what BOV, Turbo, Manifold, and Wastegate I am buying.

LOL, A friend of mine gave me that place today, thx Chicago anyways. Thats what I've been looking for. I don't know why some of you belive I have to have a mod on my car to want to learn more. Expand my knowledge.
