I couldn't really find a topic about this, so I'm making a new thread. Last night I installed a evo manifold, o2 housing, and 3 inch downpipe. When I started the car everything was running fine, but all of a sudden about 10 seconds later the head gasket blew. Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this before? It's some what coincidental that it happen to blow the first time I start the car after the install. By the way, it was just the downpipe, nothing further than that. The secondary o2 sensor was hanging there.

They are completely unrelated, I agree. It is very obvious that the head gasket is blown. It is burning oil very badly out of the exhaust, and I can watch oil run out of the head gasket and travel down the side of my motor.

Ah yes, that would be a good indication. You could always do a compression test to check.

Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? Maybe when you installed the exhaust you boost spiked and thats what blew the head gasket.

Unrelated to just the exhaust if the car was just started and idled, but if you drive it you may have had boost creep leading to a blown HG. I've seen some odd correlations but this one is probably the most unexpected.

Think through what you did to get the exhaust etc on.

No, I didn't mess the oil feed line up, that doesn't leak at all. I can clearly watch it flow from the front left corner of the head. Yes, I have an after market boost gauge, but I didn't even put the car in first gear. It was just idling when it happend. I went through and checked to make sure that I didn't screw anything up when hooking up the oil/coolant lines. I was more or less just curious if this has happend to anyone else. Maybe some sort of theory of why it happend.

The only possible connection I can think of is that the bottom center stud where the exhaust manifold bolts to the head goes into an oil drain passage in the head and if that is leaking than the symptoms would be similar. However, if you can literally see it seeping out of the left corner of the head gasket then I have no idea.
