i can not decide want turbo i want to buy. I am looking a the l2r and the L3r. I mostly drag race, but the car is also a daily driver. With the turbo i will be buying a FMIC and all the supporting mods, but not internals except for cams. My goal is to run low low 11. or 10's. I would like to run mid to low 10's. I am leaning towards the L3R, but i know that the spool time sucks for daily driving. Please help. :dsm:

I have an l3r. Its PERFECTLY daily driveable. Full boost in 3rd right around 4000. The best part is that you have boost around 2700 rpms. It makes 5-7psi from 3k-3.5k. You have tons of part throttle boost and plenty of boost below 4k to get you around town, to hit people with a BOV salute, or just to cruise around. It makes an excellent large street turbo. Ben and Kevin have both ridden in my l3r equipped car and loved how the boost acted. Everyone in my car has loved it. It sounds like EXACTLY what you want.

What size injectors are you running and what type of boost controller? That is the only questions as to parts that I have. Also what psi do you daily drive on? Thanks for the info. :dsm:

21-23psi daily with no knock on the TMO logger.

I use a turbo XS HPBC boost controller. I have 720cc injectors, but 660ccs would work fine for daily driving. For 10s I would suggest just getting some 720/750ccs. With HKS 272/272 they idle just fine.

The L2R isn't going to push your car into the 10's unless you turn it into a tin can. The L3R is what you want. And just FYI the L3R isn't going to push your car into the low 10's unless you bottle the hell out of it. This is just reality. Whenever people tell me they want to run low 11's, I say get the parts you need to run 10's then you'll end up with low 11's. You want low 10's, you better turn your car into a tin can and put all the parts on it to run 9's, then it might run low 10's.

I have a L3r, still not installed tho, I had my Engine built so once it's assembled I will let you know how it feels. I have 720 Injectors, HKS 272 Cams, ported head, FMIC and etc...

I am not planning to hit 10's anytime soon, I will be happy to run 12's when I get the car tuned then we can start working on attacking 11's.

I don't think you'll have much trouble running 12s. It's nice to see someone who has realistic goals for a car and knows it takes a long time to build an 11 sec. car.

Now I just have to go to Ryan at RnR racing and pick up my completed SS O2 eliminator Turboback with my HKS WG integrated in it. Last piece I needed to start putting my car together :)

I'll post some pictures later today when I get back with it.
