I want to get rid of all the emissions stuff on my 97 Tsi. *I know it won't pass emissions* I made an EGR block-off plate, now what else do I have to do. I want to get rid of as many vacume hoses as I can and so on. Can I ditch the solinoids on the top firewall or do they have to be plugged in? Can I remove the charcoal canister? Anyone know of a place that explains this in detail. I can only find descriptions of EGR plate installs. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can remove the charcoal canister and all the other sh1t but leave the solenoids at the top of the firewall. Go ahead and take the vacuum lines off of them but leave them plugged in.

i talked to someone today at FP about Lorens car.. they told me he capped off all the throttle body lines, got rid of the EVAP, EGR and purge solenoid and cap it off at the line that come back from the gas tank. So thats what I did.. Ill still plug in the sensors but cap off everything.

Thanks. I'm trouble shooting an idle surge problem which happened after I relocated the solenoids and extended the vacume hoses. I figure if I just get rid of it all I don't have to hunt down the vacume leak. Thanks again.
