I am just trying to see if anyone is running the JM FAB Drag SMIM and what they think about it... I'm running a GT30 sized turbo but I'm gonna be focusing on Auto-x. Just wanna see what people think about the low end gains on the "Drag" compared to "Race". I would assume that the race would be better but just wanting to make sure...

I have no first hand experience with this, but I would think talking to the guys at JMF would shed light on this. But the drag probably is more towards flowing air in high RPMs.

I would contact SPENDONE...He runs the drag manifold, I talked to him the other night and he says he loves it. I would think the low end would be worse considering the size of the plenum though, It IS a DRAG manifold....

you might want to get there "street version" if your going to be autocrossing the car

Drag > Race > Street in upper level RPM breathing. We're not talking 7200rpms here, closer to the 10k mark. I've got a few PMs back and forth with JM if you'd like to read them to gather some info. IMHO, the street version is for cars under the 20G airflow mark, race is GT35R and under, and the drag is for the crazy people who like to strap down the GT42x variants.

Judging by yours mods list (mainly the 2.4 as I don't know what the GT11 is comparable to), I'd recommend not going under the Race version for your application. I'm not sure what airflow demands your car has but this should be the real determining factor on which model to run.

You're going to lose low end power with almost any sheet metal intake manifold. You need to determine where you want to make the most power and where you wouldn't mind losing some power.

Ill say this much. I have the JMF Drag SMIM and run a S256 NET. I hit full boost (32psi) at 3700 rpms.

80% of the users on this board dont even need the 'drag' version. Sure it would be nice to see it under the christmas tree, but in all reality, build your setup with the right parts. Overkill is not always a good thing. Then your going to start seeing threads with kids running 16g's trashing the 'drag' JMF manifold. (ex. this thing sucks, it made my car slower...etc.) The street/race version will be more than enough for the majority of setups on this site.

That's not bad... You running a 2.3/2.4? Your mod profile is alittle out of date. What kinda numbers are you putting down?

I havent updated it in sometime now. Im still ona 2.0 motor. Bone stock 2.0 motor. I havent gotten it to teh track or dyno yet. I probably wont strap it on to the rollers till I go t3 on it. DSMLink estimates 474 awhp.
