buying used gsx

I am going to check out a 95 gsx in a few days and I was wondering if anyone had a list of things to check for on a used gsx. I will have a mechanic on the phone most of the time and he will direct me to most of the obvious things to check, is there any gsx or dsm specific things to check for?

i have done a search and did not come up with much. I know the most obvious problem is cw and will definitely check for that. thanks

biggest thing would be crankwalk. do a search on how to check for it.

I would first like to say nice choice in the GSX.
The first thing i would do is check the clutch. I dont mean break the trans open, but give it a good launch, since your test drivin it, and see if anythings slippin.
Another thing you might want to look at is the transfer case to see if its leaking. Does the car have any mods yet? If not, then it cant be too bad.

i talked to the girl and she said the guy who owned it before her put on an exhaust and some other stuff she didnt know about........she said the cel came on after she bought it and they said the guy put in new injectors and the car is running extrememly rich and the o2 sensor is trippin the cel. i guess that is better than extremely lean. is there any bad that can come from running real rich?

i will definitely drive the car pretty hard to see if i can find anything that way, and i know how to check for cw.

your exhaust will smell HORRIBLE (well, running lean smells bad too). more fuel consumption, so you'll be paying for gas more often.

I'd check out the fluids as well. When I got my talon, there was practically no fluids in the transfer case, 2 quarts low on oil, tranny fluid was low, etc...

Just plan on getting a S-AFC to lean things out a bit, then u should be fine.
