I just purchase this turbo and was wondering what its capabilities are. Also will I need a laundry list of mods to make this thing even work. Heres the specs.

The a/r on the exhaust side is 1.15 and on the compressor side is .60. The Inlet on the compressor side is 2 3/4 inch, outlet is 2 inch. The turbine side has the standard tang divided t4 inlet flange for awsome flow and a 3 inch out(dp).

Thanks

1.15 OMG That thing is HUGE. what kind of wheels does it have. Just by the size of the housings I doubt it would be a street turbo. Probably drag only.

Laundry list:

1. You should consider swapping out that turbine section for something a little smaller, maybe .58 or .69

2. Next you'll need a manifold for a 4G63 to T4. The HKS manifold is often considered the best, but is no longer produced; used price is around $1K. For a Header type manifold check South Florida Performance.

3. Additional parts you'll need just to attach the turbo and make it semi-functional include, but are not limited to: External Wastegate, Downpipe, Oil feed and return lines

4. Parts you should consider to get any reasonable performance out of this turbo: Fuel Pump, Fuel Control, Injectors, Front Mount Intercooler, Cams, Built Engine, etc...

Editorial: You bought a REALLY big turbo, that would most likely find itself on a drag/barely streetable DSM. In effect, you jumped from step 2 of the DSM mods list to step 36. I suggest you sell that turbo and then study the tuning guide on this website in detail. Follow it, and all of your mods will go much smoother, and be more cost efficient.

Good luck,

Hey would this work.

This is Brand New garret T3, T3/T4, T-03, .48 turbine housing with swing valve, used for internal wastegates. This will replace all late model Ford, Saab, and Nissan turbine housings. A .48 ratio will provide quick turbo spool up on engines under 2.5 liters.

Its not that Im that cheap but I was wondering if I just bought a couple extra parts if I could make this t4 work.

Thanks

I'd say you'll need

Exhaust
Downpipe
3" Tubular O2 housing
T4 exhaust manifold
External Wastegate
FMIC
Intercooler Pipes
Intake
Some type of MAS elimination, VPC or Stand-alone (S-AFC with VPC)
Cams
Fuel Pump
720cc Injectors
Clutch
Most likely built motor
Gauges
Boost Control

The list really goes on. If you got all that you might have a car that could be driven at a track, but then you'd need suspension, slicks, built transmission, nitrous to spool it, and a roll cage.
