Ok I just finished installing my prothane motormounts yesterday.

And took the car out and noticed I have no power?

My turbo isn't even starting to spool until 4500 rpms.
instead of the normal 3500.

Usually if I'm at 4500-5000rpms and I hit the gas It's instant full boost.

But yesterday I tried acouple 5000rpm jumps and it still have to spool up at 5K.

I don't get it it's like there's an air flow problem. as if somethings blocking the airflow?

Please help - I don't want to drive my car until I figure this out.

I'm thinking of possibilites:

-intake hose is off some or something

-the Injen intake - part to the turbo isn't aligned right. (fist time I've take the rubber off that section. and I had a bit of a problem getting the rubber to over it so maybe i didn't catch the underside. (as if the rubber is folded in half so the air flows out the bottom and not into the turbo)

-One of my rubber cupplers might have a tear in it. - but shouldn't

-I/C piping -I'll try to get the joints closer together.'

-I/C cupplers - I'm going to re tighten down all couples to see if I'm loosing pressure from somewhere.

-Check Vacuum Hose's.

ps: Any other suggestions?

Brian,

I thought you had made one of those Home Depot pressure testers. I also agree you might have a boost leak somewhere. By the way I have that never used MIG Welder for sale if you are still interested. Email me directly about the welder.

Make sure the turbo bolts are tight that go thru the exhaust manifold. Exhaust can leakout there and cause late spool. I has happened to me a couple of times..

Checked everything last night and found nothing.

- I/C piping is correct no leaks or gaps.

- Exhaust manifold bolts are tight.

- Downpipe, Exhaust bolts/baskets are tight.

The only thing I can think of is if some of the vacuum hose's around my throttle body area can off. but those small hose's I'm not sure what they do. But I do know everyonce and a while those come off. And since I did a lot of pushing and pulling on that area to get to some motor mount bolts some might have come off.

Another thing I might mention is that my Car after I got done racing a turbo'd hatchback last night. (guy just finished his install and wanted to see where he stands. I'd say about 260whp)

Anyways my car would stay at 1500rpms and then fall to 1000 then climb to 1500 then fall.

Kind of like vented to atmosphere problem - which my car is (vented to atmosphere) - but I've never had that problem before.

I'm thinking I might save for the next 2 weeks and then send the car into Rick S. - or local DSM Doctor.

ps: any other idea's? and kris I don't have the money for a welder right now..as you can see why. But maybe in the future. Thanks for keeping me updated.

pps: Kris - you get out much? I really haven't heard from you in some time.
