To make a long story short my DSM has broken. I have not known what was the cause of the car being broken until Eric Gash (90GSX) called me from www.horsepowerhouse.com and let me in on the pictures and his insight on the dilemna.

This is Piston #4 turned sideways and wedged in the crank counterweights.

What was found in the oilpan.

Needless to say the engine is now junk, and we are now working on putting something else in to take its place. :D

Basically, Cuc's brother managed to break rods 3 and 4, totaling the block. Our Technicians, both Mitsu mechanics with over 30 years combined experience, said this was one of the worst 4G's they'd seen. My favorite is the third pic, with all the parts that were laying in the pan when we pulled it off. Note half of rod #4, with the wrist pin still attached. Most of the rest of those pieces are what was formerly piston #4, and bits of mangled rod fragments.

Just wait till I upload pics of the block... OMG

i have this instead

I got a feeling thats what my block and car is gonna look like. I had a serious case of the crank walk. Not sure if any one else has experienced it the way I did. I was about to waste this Trans Am, launched better than ever, jumped out a length, then bam. Followed by clink clink clink, as the pieces of my timing pulley hit the ground as wall as crank housing pieces. It was a sick feeling. The guy in the Trans Am was astonished at how hard it left the line. :D

If it makes any one feel better I recently aquired a 92 talon for the price of a shift knob(long story). The motor in it was seized I know that when I got the car.I pulled the motor out this past weekend and dissambled it only to find the #3 piston was welded solid at the crank to the piston rod.I had to pound the thing off with a hammer. When I did that the bearing was shreded on the crank.Along with that I found 3 rod bearings floating around loosely in the block, and one of the two balance shafts were removed.I wish I had pics it was actually pretty funny to look at, at someone elses expense, who will remain nameless at this time.

Ouch. Your motor actually makes mine look good! LOL!

Lemme see if I can post up some pics of mines too...hehehe

Cuke,

Sorry to hear about your troubles, man. No one likes to see a dead motor. Five bucks said that the first time any of you guys saw the picture of the oil pan, you got the heebe-jeebies. I know I did.

However, there are a couple of things that you can be thankful for.

1.) At least it's not crankwalk.
2.) Two words: Six Bolt. :D

Good Luck,
Matt. :dsm:

I wanna hear a story with those pics. What the hell happend!!!! Crank walk was able to wedge a piston underneath the crank!!! What your bro do to do that!!

It didn't crank walk, in fact there was very minimal crank end play, which is a bit surprising considering the damage. We've yet to figure out exactly what his brother did, since according to hime he was "just driving it". $50 says he was spinning 9K.
