I recently found out that my car is a 7-bolt opposed to the 6-bolt I thought it was. I picked up a '90 oil filter housing and was wondering if it mated to my 1G 7-bolt engine properly? I search for the last hour and found a lot of good information, but nothing based on 1G 6-bolt oil filter housing on a 1G 7-bolt. Let me know what you guys have come across! :)

Thank you,

c4

im almost positive that you need to get an oil filter housing for a 7 bolt. i just did this swap on my 92 6bolt and when i was researching the swap i remember reading a post about a 1g 7bolt with a 90 housing didnt fit. someone correct me if im wrong but thats what i read.

in that case, I'll probably need a oil filter relocator w/ inline cooler... and then I'll end up having a '90 oil filter housing w/ lines/cooler in teh for sales section... LOL ROFL

Or you could get a 7 bolt air to oil housing. DSMotorsports sells one of them. Check this out. That way you could keep your lines and cooler and just sell the 90 housing. It's like $100 second item down.

i have a evoIII oil housing that is for a external cooler. Im looking to get rid of it to.

thanks for all of your help... very informative... TurboAnything YGPM
