intake for 2nd gen gsx question

do most companys/manufacturers sell the filter and the intake pipe seperately for my 2nd gen gsx?? i want a k and n filter, but im not sure if i need that "FIPK" pack.. i mean ####! what the hell is that all come with? on the tuning guide on this site, the filter is suppose to be like 40 bucks.... is that all i need?? where can i get one of these filters.. if i get this filter, can i buy the intake piping later? do i need to buy an adapter for this filter?? guys!! i want my shitty t2slow turbo to breathe more!! please help! list anysites and info you know, thanks

Go on ebay or look in the classifieds for a filter if you want to spend $40. I paid $50 for the adapter and a K&N filter (not the FIPK which I have now) from Extreme over a year ago. You dont need a pipe if you dont want one but the pipe is the most restricting part because the BLow off Valve Dump really prevents air from getting to the turbo. You will see what I mean when you take the pipe off. I would suggest a cheap filter with a Dejon Tool intake pipe or if you really want to be cheap. Hack the Blow off valve dump tube off the stock pipe and get a filter and adapter. Go to www.vfaqs.com for more info. I persoanlly like the Injen intake pipe for looks but that is a little bit more expensive.

Good advice, but note that it's www.vfaq.com (no "s").

I personally like the Dejon intake that's just the lower part-- you cut the stock pipe and keep the upper part where all the hoses and stuff plug in. It's a lot cheaper than the whole intake replacement one.
