Injen Intake Q:

My friend has a 95 gsx with an injen intake. My question is for those of you who have replace the filter the injen came with. He wants to replace the filter with a bigger one with a center velocity stack. Anybody know which filter to use that will be bigger and flow more air?

I guess I don't understand... does he want to replace the pipe from the MAS to the Turbo or the filter itself?

btw, if I could afford it, I would have one of these... the are supposed to flow more air, and filter better then any other filter out there... (btw, the hks foam one filtered the worst!!) --

$189 for an air filter? WTF?

Just keep the Injen Filter or buy a simple K&N filter. All cone filters are in theory the same just differ in the materials used. I kept my injen filter and it worked just fine for me and my girlfriend just ordered the complete Injen intake for her car as well. All you need to do is clean them when they need it. If you want to buy a filter to replace that one then just surf around on ebay for a cheap one. Can sometimes fine them for $20 or less.

yeah i got the apexi power intake.. its sweet, was shorter (smaller) than the big ass filter that came with my injen kit. so now it fits better in the engine bay since the injen pipe is longer than the stock snorkel pipe. however it flows more air based on tests and filters really well.. its a dry filter so you'll have to change it out later on, but the intial price is filter and bracket.. just the filter costs less down the line. so yeah your friend should be able to put any other filter he wants on his injen pipe.. no prob.. unless the thing is super huge that it bumps the engine bay and/or won't let the hood close.. look out for that.
