I have a boost leak in my throttle body seal, its not that big of a leak but I don't have time to change it for a while. How much of a performance loss can I expect from having even just a small leak.

Also would there be any gain from removing material from the throttle plate shaft. When the throttle plate is fully open the largest restriction in the throttle body is that shaft. If I where to grind some material from the shaft in between the screws and on the outside of the screws it would allow more airflow when under WOT. Any comments?

Is this a hard question?

The throttle plate shaft...how big in diameter is it? I guess the question is, rather than "Will it hurt?" should be "How much gain is it worth?". I don't own a 2G, and I'm not sure how that particular throttle body looks so I can't tell you wether or not it would harm it. But atleast you got some form of response :p

As far as the leak, it can probably wait if it's just pin hole size. Regardless it's still under pressure when boosting and can get larger. I wouldn't worry about it too terribly much if you're looking at fixing it within the next month. IMO

Thanks for the reply Zerocygnal I actually have the same TB as you I did the 2G to 1G swap. I guess I was just wondering if they had ever heard anyone porting the throttle plate shaft, i've heard of domestic owners doing it to increase flow.
