Debris in Apex N1 muffler?

I bought a used Apex N1 turbo muffler off ebay, from someone who had in on an RSX for a month. The muffler itself looks fine, but when I shake it it sounds like there's something inside, almost like sand or debris. Is this normal?

that is the "batting" or sound deadening material in the muffler... I wouldn't think that it would deteriate THAT fast...

I wouldn't worry too much, if there is loose debris (as long as there aren't any tennis balls or large objects =) ) in there, your exhaust will blow it out when you get on the boost.

I agree. but ya really gotta be careful with buying used performance parts tho, which is why I just sheel out the extra bucks-at least I know no one else has ever used it.
