Pace setter exhaust good or bad and why?

hello comrades i am looking for a exhaust but the Pace setter is the cheapest one i can find for $176 is 2.5" what you think of the manufacturer?


Any recomendations

please dont tell me a Apex n-1 for $300 or buschur racing $400
i dont think a piece of steel worth that much money!!!

Well, lets put it this way... Pacesetter’s literature says that it uses "corrosion-resistant Galvalume steel" and "durable black paint."
Translation: They use the cheapest steel they can find and spray it with black spray-paint before packaging....
everything I know about them says "NO".... it all starts rusting within a year, etc... if you live up north, then beware the salt on the roads in the winter I havent heard anything bad about the mounting of it, and I heard the sound isnt bad... If you are just impatient (like me!) then maybe you can go ahead and get this and upgrade later..... just my opinion...

If you wanna save money, get a custom made from a muffler shop.

I had a pacesetter for about 6months and it was great except I hacked of the crappy muffler they put on and put on a standard N1 style muffler
and for only 140 It couldn't be beat plus no worries of rust in AZ

I had that exhaust on my NT.. it wasnt *that* bad.. of course... you gotta hack the muffler off and buy a universal one, for it too look good

Mine fit perfectly. Used every factory hanger.

it is only 2.5" isnt it... do they do a 3"?

i've looked on the pacesetter website and never saw ne thing about the DSM exhausts wehre are they at on their site?

No they don't have a 3inch cat-back but the now sell a 3inch DP summit sells them.



It's not on there site but checker sells them so does racesearch and nopi.

Look around your town for a local muffler shop. I use to run the HKS Hyper exhaust, and got tired of the small size of the piping. I contacted a local exhaust place, and they custom made me a 3 1/2 inch mandrel bent cat back and I put on the DynoMax Race muffler, I painted it all flat black, and unless you know better you cant tell I have a performance exhaust. Well except the very loud tone it has, no cats, no real muffler just 3 1/3 from the down pipe back. All in all it cost me $350 for the custom 3 1/2 mandrel bent piping and the DynoMax Race muffler. The muffler flows like 1500 cfm, so I don’t expect to have any backpressure. =)
