How many people in here are running a Tial BOV on their 1G? Are you using standalones? VPC's? Anyone successful in running a Tial BOV and venting to atmos. and NOT having problems with the car dying out?

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, VPC. Runs fine. Its a stiff BOV so it flutters when you let off under 10psi or so.

Would go great with my turbo, hint hint.

You cant vent them to the intake due to their design. They release air on all sides.

I know a guy in Indy (Fathouse) runs a Tial with no VPC and says he has no problems with stalling upon letting off the gas. I'm curious if anyone else out there runs one with NO standalone or VPC. Or did I basically screw myself by getting this BOV? I don't plan on going standalone for a while either.

As for the fluttering, is this compressor surge? I don't feel like beating my center cartridge to death on a new(er) turbo.

Like I said, I run one with a VPC and it runs fine.

As for sound, who the hell cares. It sounds like a BOV. If you buy a BOV for sound, then you should go buy a honda.

It just opens and closes rapidly, not surge.

the tial is a great bov. A bit on the expensive side, but if your planning on making alot of power it does the job. Some cars vent fine, others will idle so bad you can't keep it from stalling. Depends on your car. If your going for sound, go with the greddy, hks, or somehing along those lines.

Expensive? $220 or so. Thats about teh same as others out there.

If you have a speed density setup, your fine venting. If you don't, don't be a ricer loser and vent it back in.

The tial is not the best sounding BOV, but one of the very best out there. I would buy it.

my bad, i only looked for it once and saw it for $340. Do you have a link where you could buy it?

Check out my photos of it installed on my BR FMIC piping. I got from DSMotorsport for around $225. At that price it is the BEST deal around!!! Comprable HK$ BOV is $450-$500...

As for sound... If you care, you shouldn't buy this BOV, as it is geared toward performance. Buy one of those silly things with a horn..

I got mine for 150 bux brand new through some hook ups. I know 3 people that use it while running a MAS and they don't have any issues.

I run it on a 2g w/ stock ECU, no problems. No comment on sound, it's too subjective and I don't give a #### what it sounds like. I do care that it doesn't leak to 35psi, didn't test higher.

have good experiences with these tial products .... for my 1994 AWD talon project car I bought a 40mm tial with the .7bar spring & the Tial compressor bypass valve in grey. I got a good deal from a friend that had his car go south on him before he ever got to install them...
But all & all everybody has had a positive experience with them ?
Does it help keep the turbo spooled in between shifts ?

Tial does make great products. And they have a rep to back them up. around 70-80% of DSMers user their wastegates, and for a good reason. BOV wise, this thing kicks butt. I like the fact that you don't have to mess tihe the diaphram too. Another company that compares in quality with Tial wastegates is HKS and GReddy. DOn't fall in the whole internet fad thing. Buy different things and try them out.
