I went to turn on my heater tonight and the damn thing won't change to anything it's just stuck on defrost. The knob turns all the way from defrost to vent and everything but the airflow doesn't change. Does anybody have any idea what may be causing this? I don't really know to much about HVAC systems and where i am in CO it's about -10 when i drive home from work so i'd kinda like to fix it. thanks alot.

Ok, i disected my car tonight and found that the little metal piece of wire connected to the selection switch on the controls completely snapped in half. Does anyone have ANY idea where i could get one of these metal pieces without going to the dealer and does anyone know how to replace it?

It's a push/pull wire, which should be available from the dealer. It's also an Avenger part. It clips in, which should be understandable by looking at it. You may want to get a shop manual.

I have a shop manual already but i couldn't find anything in there about it. I know it goes into it's own sleeve and everything but with only taking out the stereo and everything i can only see the opening in the sleeve so i think i need to take out the gauges and all the crap. am i right on that one? and do u know about how much it might run me? my closest mitsu. dealer it 4 hours away.

The junkyard would probably have a ton of them as well. This way, you could take the part off yourself to see what's easiest/best and not worry about breaking anything on your own car when you do it. And it's probably much cheaper.

I want to get one out of a junkyard or something like that but the closest junkyard that has a 2g dsm is over 2 hours away from me. go figure the one in my town just can't have one, oh well. and i have a chilton's and haynes manuals for my car. i may have just overlooked it or something when i looked before. do you have any idea of where at in the manuals it would be?
