I have found stcock turbos for most cars to be relatively cheap. So could I buy a used Grand Ntional turbo or other and make a adapter to bolt it up to my manifold. I cant imagine a adapter being more than $100 and a turbos that come factory on most cars are like $200. I would love to do something like this to my eclipse but I don't know if its possible or what turbo to use. I really dont have the $800 for a Big 16G like I want or even the $600 to buy it used. I have found many A/R T3s in good conditoin at my local junkyard for $40 but I think that turbo is too small. But $300-$400 I could probally come up within a few weeks. I have found many A/R T3s off of Chryslers in good conditoin at my local junkyard for $40 but I think that turbo is too small.

See if you can find a center section from a 16G or big 16G and put it into you stock turbine housing. They are cheap usually around $400.

The only reason I want a Big 16G is fo the 7cm housing so I see no reason to just upgrade the centersection and use the stock housing. Im looking for a big turbo that could flow all the extra exhaust gasses from nitrous.

until you have done all your intake and intercooler pipes, full exaust, good ignition, tweaked intercooler, fuel pump upgrade/rewire, and FULL exaust including manifold, O2 housing and back, and 15-17psi of boost, you don't need a bigger turbo. Infact you might loose power, throttle response, and mileage. As well as your money.

Just my 2cents, but there are several websites(this one included) that show the path to 300+ hp and none include a different turbo. Of course that assumes that you have a 14b not a 13b.

Agreed. Without supporting mods you may as well not even think about changing the turbo.
