Ebc are better than mbc's

mbc's restrict boost to the wastegate by turning a knob to increase pressure. They work well but boost levels tend to change with temperature by 1-2 psi and adjustments require opening the hood. The electronic uses a solenoid or stepper motor to regulate boost pressure. They are more accurate and will hold their settings regardless of temperature. The main advantage is that they are cockpit adjustable and can often be set for several pressure levels.

you have to take that with a grain of salt. They want to sell $350-$500 ebc's, not $45-$100 mbc's I'd say.

Of course the ebc has the cockpit adjustable feature but so does the newest Hallman piece.

And I've heard that ebc's have less than stellar throttle response due to some bleed. Maybe I am confused on that one, so don't use it against me

I do know that a good, well set up MBC is gonna do what you want it to. It will hold all the boost you need, it will allow good throttle response because no boost will get to the wastegate actuator until the unit opens, and they are WAY cheaper.

But some people really like the flashy looks of an electronic unit, and it is nice to be able to adjust it in-car and have preset boost amounts etc.
