I've seen a couple of turbos on turbochargers.com that are $200 cheaper with a core trade in. I've done core trade ins a number of times at the local autozone when replacing alternators and such on other cars. My question is how does the core trade in work for these turbos? Obviously if you give them your stock T25 in good condition they will give you the credit, but what I'm wondering is when you have to send them the core. Do you have to send the core in first and wait for them to receive it and inspect it then charge you before they send out the new turbo. Or do they just let you pay the advertised price and send you the new turbo and just inspect the core turbo when you send it and charge you an additional $200 if it is damaged? I am wondering all of this because I just need to know how much down time I will have when I upgrade the turbo pretty soon. Also do they include new gaskets and such with the new turbos.
Thanks for looking

it depends on which company but I think in general you send them the core after they have sent you the new turbo and then you are given the credit once they receive the core. That is how it was with my Big28 from Forced Performance anyhow
